Army Specialist Richard Carson
SPC Richard Carson is currently living in Washington and going to school where he is working on his Bachelors of Science in Nursing. On April 17, 2010, while on patrol clearing a compound, Carson's fellow unit member stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The injuries Carson sustained from the explosion were to his lower torso and hands.
He has since had over 16 surgeries, can walk and has regained the use of his hands. Carson enjoys bicycling, outdoor activities, and spending time with his service dog, Zeke.
